You’re on an 18 hour drive in a truck freighting the set and have been sitting next to a man who smells like a walking armpit for the last 8 hours.
You forgot to pack your ABBA pillowcase. You can’t sleep without your ABBA pillowcase.
You tried your hotel key in 278 doors one night before you found your room.
You know she did, you’re certain he did and you wonder how the fuck they got away with that. Have you woken up in the cone of silence?
Of course you have. You’re on tour and mum is the word.
Everyone has an ‘on tour’ story and we want to hear yours.
What goes on tour, stays on tour is a new media project built especially for the Adelaide Fringe Club 2010. An old style phone booth will play home to a collection of stories from fringe artists, past, and present – that will unfold into those late nights, and early mornings.
The job of being an artist can mean an erratic work life; frequent travel and intensive bursts of creative productivity, marked by decadence and separation from loved ones. We want to hear all about it.
By tour, we don’t just mean rock stars. We are looking for traveling performers, artists, comedians, dancers and anyone in the creative industry whose work takes them away from home. This is a call to all fringe artists, get involved and record your own adventures, misadventures and reflections.
Ready to Participate?
We are looking for short anecdotes and responses, 30 secondsĀ – 2minutes in length. If you are happy to contribute, please email Sasha on sasha@sashagrbich.com to record your story. All interviews will beĀ short, painless, and carried out over the phone.
